You've Got Mail VR Project Description

This project was inspired by the iconic 90s movie You’ve Got Mail, starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks—my absolute favourite movie! 💌🎥 When tasked with creating a VR game for my CS 5097 Mixed Reality class at Northeastern University, I teamed up with Vy Thai to bring this idea to life—or rather, to *virtual* life! 🌟🎮

Here’s how the experience unfolds:

• Step 1: Put on the 🎧Oculus Quest 2 headset🎧 and enter the immersive world of 📬You’ve Got Mail📬✨.

• Step 2: Start by soaring over 🗽New York City🗽, using head movements to steer your flight 🛫.

• Step 3:  Your goal? To navigate to 📚The Shop Around the Corner📚 and land outside this iconic location 📍🏢.

• Step 4: Get transported to the shop’s street and walk into the shop 🚶‍♂️➡️.

• Step 5: Inside the shop, follow the prompts to complete a series of fun and interactive activities 🎮.

• Step 6: Enjoy the immersive experience with sound effects, haptic feedback, and engaging visual hooks 🎵🕹️.

Creating this project was not just a nostalgic trip down memory lane—it was a fantastic learning experience, combining creativity and technical skills. It was such a pleasure bringing my favourite movie to life and the end result truly captured the ✨magic✨ of the movie in an immersive VR format! ✨
